The ultimate beginner’s Mega Guide to Delivery Health

This guide is aimed mainly at first-timers who do not speak Japanese. If you speak Japanese, there are much more cost-effective ways, and a larger choice out there. If that is the case, please read our other, more in-depth guides. This guide assumes that:

  • You don’t live in Japan
  • You don’t have a local Japanese mobile number (080)
  • You don’t speak enough Japanese to book via phone-call
  • You have never used any sort of Escort Service / Delivery Health in Japan before

The good news is that unlike a few decades ago, tourists can absolutely enjoy escort services (I’m writing escort services because that’s what people search for, but they’re not called this way in Japan. From hereupon I will correctly refer to them as Delivery Health) in Japan. What’s more, it’s completely possible to book those services via Messenger.

Lots of shops have recognized the large influx of western tourists nowadays and have a WhatsApp account. Personally, I recommend making a LINE account for the largest selection.

SUMMARY:

Select a shop ⇒ Select a girl, day, time, duration and extras ⇒ Contact the shop (for example through LINE) ⇒ Search for a Love Hotel ⇒ Check into the Love Hotel ⇒ Contact the shop to tell them the hotel name and the room number ⇒ Wait for the girl

What’s a Delivery Health?

Delivery Health (Deriheru) is the closest equivalent to an Escort Service in Japan. Essentially you select a shop, browse through the girl’s images, select the one you find the cutest, then message the operator, tell them your hotel and room-number, and they send the girl to you.

What can I do with a Delivery Health girl?

This is where things get a bit complicated. Let’s first of all, address the elephant in the room: Prostitution is illegal in Japan. However, Japan’s definiton of prostitution applies only to “penis in vagina sex among strangers, for money”.

This means that except for actual sex, pretty much everything can be on the menu. Blowjobs, anal sex, sometimes BDSM play and generally a huge variety of play.

When it comes to actual sex, a lot of girls will eventually offer it for an extra fee when you’re alone in the room with her. There is however no guarantee. You should also not actively ask, but instead let her bring it up. It’s also best to not expect it to happen, but to treat it as a bonus if it does.

How much does it cost?

The prices for delivery health vary wildly. What’s more, most shops have foreigner up-charges. Those can often be worked around if you speak Japanese and can book via phone. If you are a tourist, don’t speak Japanese, and are simply looking to tick a checkbox, there’s no way around the surcharge. Local prices typically start somewhere around ¥ 14,000 per hour, whereas foreigner prices start around ¥ 27,000 per hour.

What’s important to note is that a higher price on foreign-targeting platforms does not necessarily equal better service. Historically, there were a few delivery health shops that built a reputation for being very friendly and easy to use for foreign people. Once those establishments realized that they had a wide audience, they have increased the foreigner prices accordingly.

Some worse offenders charge ¥ 16,000 for Japanese people, and ¥ 40,000 for tourists. Whereas some others charge ¥ 21,000 for Japanese people and ¥ 27,000 for tourists. So at first sight, the ¥ 40,000 shop might appear more high end, but that’s not the case.

How do I find shops that accept foreigners?

The two main platforms that aim at English speakers are Yoasobi Heaven and Japan Play Spot – please note that nearly all shops on this platform have foreigner up-charges.

How do I book?

First you select a shop in your area. Select a shop nearby you to avoid transportation fees. That said, if you don’t mind paying for transportation, Most Delivery Health establishments will deliver to a wide range (for example, a Delivery Health in Shinjuku will typically deliver to Akihabara for ¥3,000-5,000 extra fee). Then you can either select a girl (which will carry an additional nomination fee of typically ¥ 2,000-4,000), or ask for a random one.

To do this, you contact the operator (preferably via LINE app). Shops on Yoasobi and Japan Play Spot can generally be contacted in English and if you are going to pay the up-charge anyway, you really don’t need to go through the extra effort of using Google Translate. Let them work for it.

If you found the shop somewhere else, it’s common courtesy to at least use Google Translated Japanese. From that point on, the details may change depending on the shop. So follow the instructions of the operator and answer the questions that you’re being asked.

Are there shops that don’t upcharge foreigners?

Yes there are. However, we can not openly recommend them. As soon as they reach a certain level of popularity, they start up-charging foreigners. So we don’t write those openly. Personally, if I was a one-time tourist not speaking Japanese, I would just accept the up-charge rather than limiting myself to perhaps two shops that don’t up-charge. It’s an experience and it’s how the system works. While it can feel frustrating and unfair, you really only can start fighting against it once you know the language and can argue about it.

Will my hotel allow a delivery health girl to enter the room?

Some hotels do, some don’t. We wrote a guide on how to find out. Read the ultimate guide on how to find out whether a hotel allows for delivery health or not.

Alternatively, there are a lot of purpose-built Love Hotels all over Japan. You can simply use those. Checking in is very easy, don’t worry about it. You either select the room on a screen and pay, or there’s a reception (typically on more high-end ones).

You can not reserve love hotels in advance, so normally this means that you will tell the operator “I will look for a love hotel in [district]”, and then you try a few, until you find one with an empty room.

Personally, I recommend using a Love Hotel rather than your own. You can leave those rooms a mess and nobody will care. You can be loud, she can be loud, body fluids can go anywhere.

Depending on what activities you plan to carry out, it might be unpleasant to remain in the hotel room for an extended period of time afterwards. Love hotels are pretty cheap and start around ¥ 3,000 per 3 hours. High end love hotels, such as Bali An or Pasha, start at around ¥ 9,000 per 3 hours.

How long do I need to book the love hotel for?

Because there can be delays, it’s important to book the love hotel for at least one hour longer than the session. Most love hotels have a minimum booking duration of 3 hours (some also offer 1 or 2 hours), but 3 hours won’t be enough for a 3 hour session. You are generally expected to be at the love hotel 20-30 minutes before the session begins at least. Depending on traffic the girl can also be heavily delayed. Delays up to one hour are to be expected and don’t really justify a complaint.

Can I record my session?

This heavily depends on the shop and on the girl. Most profiles will mention whether recording is allowed or not. Some shops outright ban recording for non-residents because they can’t enforce the “don’t upload it online” rule once you’re abroad. Prices for video-recordings of sexual activities generally range from ¥ 10,000 to ¥ 30,000 depending on the girl and whether you want to record her face or not.

How does a session play out?

Something that is unique to Japan: First of all, you shower together. This is a non-negotiable part of the play and the girl will insist. Showering together can be a bit awkward. Basically just let it happen and wait for her to hose you down. This serves the purpose that she can inspect whether you look like you have an STD or not. Keep in mind that this counts as play time, so plan your session accordingly.

Well, after that, it’s up to you and up to the options you booked.

How do I prepare?

Hygiene is key for a good experience.

First and foremost: Japanese girls are not used to beards. If you want to increase your chance to have some kisses (if you’re into that), shave. And be cleanly shaven. Your skin should not feel like sandpaper.

Bring your own condoms (if you plan on doing anything that requires a condom). Japanese love hotel condoms, even in the upper end chains, tend to be of horrible quality – if they even fit to begin with. I personally recommend Okamoto 0.01. They can be bought in Don Quijote. They are a bit expensive but truly a masterpiece of engineering. The girl will almost never have her own condoms. Blowjobs are often done without, and the shop won’t provide any for sex, since it’s officially not on the menu.

Then, shower and brush your teeth. Japanese people are very sensible to any smells. If you wear strong scents, etc: shower them off. Even if you shower together, you will make a better first impression if you don’t stink.

Have Google Translate ready. Sometimes the profiles say that the girl can speak basic English. This is almost always not quite true.

Do I tip? Do I bring presents?

This is absolutely unnecessary. Please do not tip. A small snack or something might be appreciated, but for the love of God, do not start tipping in Japan. Keep that garbage where you came from. I don’t want the girls to get used to receiving tips. Really. Don’t tip. And if you pay a ¥ 49,000 session with 5 x ¥ 10,000 bills, it’s completely appropriate to ask for change. Very often, the operator will ask in advance if change is necessary. Especially if the course fee is not a round number.

Protips:

  • Book at least 90 minutes. You should assume that after greeting, exchanging money, showering together you will lose at least 15-20 minutes. Furthermore, the alarm will usually go off 15 minutes before the play ends, to give the girl enough time to get ready to leave. She might want to wash herself again. So if you book 60 minutes, that’s effectively 30 minutes of playtime. Book at least 90 minutes, so that you get 60 minutes of play time. Personally, I always book two hours, so I can also have a bit of a chat and take my time exploring every corner of her.
  • Honestly don’t tip.
  • Depending on the shop you end up using, some of those girls rarely ever interact with foreign guys. She might be a little nervous herself. Being calm, confident, nice and with a smile, sets a good atmosphere that will often get you substantially better service.
